Bluetooth Stereo Headset Reviews

When we started our research on the Bluetooth Stereo Headset Reviews we were amazed at how many units were bashed on buyer reviews. I've used bluetooth headsets for my cell phones for years and really only found one that worked well. It's even more of a challenge to find good stereo bluetooth headsets.

Bluetooth has it's issues no matter if you have a mono or stereo model. Most units get 30 feet at max (most get about 20 feet) and there is a lot of interference on many. Now if you're using a mono headset for your phone that's irritating but not a deal killer. But when listening through a bluetooth stereo headset that is a huge problem. Stereo has a lot more definition and people are very picky about the quality of sound.

In our reviews we talked to several users of the popular models and quickly found out that most units have performance problems. The biggest complaints were both quality (dropped signals and clean reproduction) and quality of manufacturing (many units break very easily). It became quite clear that regardless of price, one or both of these issues plagued 95% of the bluetooth stereo headsets that we were reviewing.

But one stereo headset stood out from the crowd in that it did not exhibit any major issue or flaw. A few minor complaints about controls (or lack thereof) or battery life but nothing serious. So we're going to skip telling you about the super cheap ones that don't work or the very high end ones that cost $100's of dollars but still don't perform well or offer the features. We'll cut to the chase and talk about the two best bluetooth stereo headset that we found.

Sony Ericsson Hi-Fi Bluetooth Stereo Headset MW600 with FM Radio

OK, the MW600 is less than two and one half inches long, it's got an FM receiver, controls for play/pause/forward/back, slider for volume, power button, call/voice dial button, microphone, microUSB port, and 3.5mm audio jack. There's also a clip that can attach to almost anything since it's the perfect size.

This bad boy is small with all the controls you need for any mp3 player or cell phone. And add a 170 mAh Lithium Ion battery for up to 8.5 hours of playback

and talk time of 11 hours. You can charge the battery through the microUSB connection to many different devices that have power. The charge time is a little slow, about two hours if the battery is completely used up. .

But what I first missed when playing with the unit was the 3.5mm audio jack. I'm a little slwo sometimes but my partner looked at it and said "you can use that jack to plug any earbuds into that unit and make them bluetooth". Wow, that's huge since many people have multiple earbudes or even the big boy head phones that can be use with this unit. Now that is a feature that would attract any buyer!

So the features are great but what about the quality of sound? After all, the quality of sound is what listening to music is all about. I'm happy to say that the quality is as good as it gets from my view. No dropped signals, clear clean sound, and great high and lows. I'm sure someone that has a better pair of ears than mine might be able to detect some loss but for 98% of listeners this will be a great listening experience.

I'm not a big gamer but I have several friends that are so I had them test it out. They loved it since they often get a little excited when they play some of the more active games and this allowed them to jump around all they wanted. Plus the volume can be cranked up so loud is a good thing for them. And they had no problems with pairing it up with any hardware around.

So what are the downsides? A few on the cell phone end since the controls for the phone are designed to only work with Sony Erickson phones. But the basics work fine on all the phones I tested. And getting a full charge of the battery can take up to 2 hours but I use mine for my computer too so that's not an issue for me. No pre-sets on the FM tuner can be a pain since I often jump around but I can live it.

What about price? How about around $55-60? That's a great deal when you look at all the other top models that sell for up to 4 times that price and don't have the features or quality of sound. The Sony Ericsson MW600 Bluetooth Stereo Headset is the best bang for your hard earned money. Not one of the other models we reviewed had anywhere near the features, quality of workmanship, and great sound for any price. So for our Bluetooth Stereo Headset Reviews, this is the only one that merits a review. This especially true since you can take your high end (read high dollar) earbuds from any company and connect them to make them bluetooth.
